  • Jing is an advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice in science, technology, and engineering

  • Co-hosted and organized an elementary school STEM outreach program (collaborating with the DOW Chemical company), to inspire a diverse group of young students to consider careers in STEM fields, to encourage them to actively contribute to the scientific and cultural diversity of our community, to foster innovation and equip these young people to build a more sustainable future

  • Organized educational programs for diverse high school and middle school students, bringing them into visit laboratories, to give them a direct experience of work in STEM fields

  • Developed opportunities for the mentorship of diverse undergraduate and graduate scholars in racial, socioeconomic, cultural, and gender identity

  • Stand with any other mentee or collaborator based on sex, color, religion, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age

  • Strive to recognize diversity, equity, and inclusion through teaching, mentoring, and outreach
